About Ageless Yoga
By regaining
flexibility, increasing strength and muscle tone, adjusting your weight and
improving metabolism, circulation and digestion you can literally grow
younger.
The physical manifestations of aging
shouldn't be regarded as inevitable. They can be delayed and even reversed
by increasing our knowledge of the body's needs and functioning and by
practising the techniques taught in the Ageless Yoga classes.
Younger people who regularly
practise the techniques can prolong their youth into what is normally
considered middle age.
More mature people can reduce any
indications of premature aging by getting back in touch with their youthful
selves and prolonging their vital and creative years,
The techniques used in the Ageless
Yoga classes are based on Hatha Yoga and the vast knowledge of
Michael Volin
(Swami Karmananda - see opposite) and his students, gleaned from his many
years in the ashrams of India, China and Tibet.
Michael Volin opened the first yoga
school in Australia shortly after WWII and went on to tour the world,
lecturing and teaching, before coming to live in Adelaide in the late
seventies.
Terry McGuire facilitates all Adelaide Ageless Yoga classes. Terry first
started practising Yoga over thirty years ago with
Michael Volin and his student
Bette Calman and is a certified teacher with the International Yoga
Teachers' Association (IYTA), Yoga Teachers Institute of South Australia
and
Swami Sarasvati's
Australian Yoga Master's Association.
He has also studied with a number of teachers in India and Nepal and
holds a Bachelor's degree in Education.
